A Composite combines or extracts elements from one or more source images to create a single new image. For example, Uncle Oscar can be added to a photo of a family gathering he couldn't attend. A great picture of Mom and Dad can be placed in front of the family castle. Or a wide-eyed brother Jim open can replace a blinking Jim on the reunion photo.

Composite Sample 1 substitutes one photo of a person for another. The man on the left is smoking in the original photo; his large lapel and his right hand are badly placed, and his right side is not in the photo. His second photo is much better. Some creative license has been taken with the shrubbery and the overlap between the two people has been retouched for a more realistic appearance.
