A Composite combines or extracts elements from one or more source images to create a single new image. For example, Uncle Oscar can be added to a photo of a family gathering he couldn't attend. A great picture of Mom and Dad can be placed in front of the family castle. Or a wide-eyed brother Jim open can replace a blinking Jim on the reunion photo.

Composite Sample 2 shows a unusual kind of composite. Ribbons and antique lace were scanned and used to frame and enhance a colorized old photo. The image was used on a cover of The American Harp Journal.
